Today has been a blessed day. It started with Pablo allowing me to sleep 3 extra hours than I do during the week when he pleasantly made it known that he was awake and hungry at 7:30. After entertaining him for a couple of hours, I began to fulfill a promise to the other boys about making some french toast for breakfast. That seemed to go over well (you know this by the amount of leftovers on their plates - there were none).
After Luis got up after a rought week of getting a 20 page paper (doctoral studies requirement) submitted before midnight last night (was sent at 11:30), he was finally relieved and ready to move on to the next task of getting our house cleaned for company later on today. We originally had a church activity planned for the park but with the never ending call for rain, we decided to move it to our home. Luis spent some time mowing the grass while Jacob cleaned the family room and Caleb swept the hardwood floors throughout the house. Pablo and I took care of the laundry. He loves to give the clean clothes a taste.

Our guests arrived around six and brought with them the joy of fellowship and laughter. We ate, we played fooseball, Wii (one of them brought it), and just enjoyed each other's company for a few hours. I started sending the boys to the shower around 9 but our guests actually didn't leave until 10:00. Our family gathered together for our time of prayer and it was so funny to hear them as I tucked them in. Instead of their busy chatter amongst themselves that I seem to always remind them to cease, they were saying how long today had been and that it wouldn't take long for them to fall asleep. That gave me a chuckle. Just think if they had to grow up on a farm! All I ask is that they do some cleaning on Saturdays and some minor stuff during the week.
It is nice to have a big family. I'm so grateful for being able to grow up in one and to have one of my own. Well, four kids may not seem "big" but in today's standards I think the average size family has shrunk.
Anyway, today was blessed and now I'm going to enjoy some bonding with my pillow.
