So, being the mother of four boys, I have put up with a lot of dirt....I mean the real kind that comes in on the bottom of their shoes, stained on their jeans, and caked under their finger nails. Even Pablo at 8 months somehow manages to get dirt between his little fingers and toes and he's not even crawling yet!
Last night I decided that I was going to have child #3 and #4 soak their hands. Since they shower and no longer take long baths, they don't always remove the dirt and grime. So one at a time, I started with child #3, who had the dirtiest hands. I had him soak for 10 minutes and to my amazement, once they were clean and I had the chance to look them over, I discovered that he had warts all over one of his hands. One finger had three different clumps. I felt like a bad mommy for not noticing this earlier.
Anyone have some suggestions of getting rid of them? Child #1 had plantar warts on the bottom of his feet when he was around this age (6 -7) and I took him to a doctor who used something to freeze them. Does anyone know if they do this to hands?

Yes, they freeze warts off hands. It is a bit painful though. I had a lot of warts on my hands years back. I think I ended up with 17 on one finger. Anyway, they freeze them and then they eventually turn black and come off. It hurts a lot if you bump your hands/fingers once the warts have been frozen. I would have the procedure done in the morning and then not work all day as it hurt quite a bit. It took more than one procedure to get rid of them.
